One of the greatest miracles that a person can be given is breaking out of a relationship. I use the expression 'breaking out' because most people do not deliberately walk out of a relationship. It takes an intervention completely outside the control of the affected party for them to realize that it is time to say good bye. Everyone has a relationship which needs to be broken out  of. The relationship that is my preoccupation here is the one that keeps you from being everything that you should be...one that is addictive, dehumanizes  and abuses physically, emotionally or mentally. HOW ARE YOU DOING?

 So...I watched Being Mary Jane today. I am not really a fan because I do not agree with some views carried on the show but today's episode spoke to me which is why this post!  Lots of times people ask us, 'how are you doing'? And the response is 'I am fine', 'great', ‘absolutely amazing'! Sometimes we quote our religious refrains ''I am blessed and highly favored', 'blessed beyond measure', ' I am lifted'...and on and on....No offense I am a believer and I speak the language too...! But the truth is, you are not fine! You lie and say you are happy, you smile and say things are fine...but you are carrying a heavy burden, you are carrying a weight that you cannot share! You are hurting, and the burden is crushing you under its weight...! TURN YOUR PROPHESY TO A WEAPON

 One of the greatest books that impacted me as a university undergraduate is a book called WHERE THERE IS NO DOCTOR - A VILLAGE HEALTH CARE MANUAL written in 1970 by David Werner.  It is compendium of hacks that can be deployed when faced with emergency situations that occur in everyday life in the absence of medical personnel.  The connection would seem farfetched   until you understand the trend of my thought.  You see, I applied it as an undergraduate in the university leaving home for the first time in my life.  I had been sheltered, never travelled anywhere and I found myself on my own  for the first time.  I decided I would learn to be my own doctor and flowing from that my own prophet! we are a generation that are constantly spoon-fed.
