...And Lot Went With Him!

One of the greatest miracles that a person can be given is breaking out of a relationship.
I use the expression 'breaking out' because most people do not deliberately walk out of a relationship. It takes an intervention completely outside the control of the affected party for them to realize that it is time to say good bye.
Everyone has a relationship which needs to be broken out  of. The relationship that is my preoccupation here is the one that keeps you from being everything that you should be...one that is addictive, dehumanizes  and abuses physically, emotionally or mentally.
Sometimes there is need to momentarily step back from the relationship in order to seek help, strength or heal; and in some cases, to re-strategize  and deploy external forces to control or bring a stop to the unsavory situation
God told Abraham to end a relationship! He was instructed to leave his Country, father's house, kindred and relatives in Genesis 12:1-3AMP
[1] 'NOW in Haran the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself for your own advantage away from your country, from your relatives and your father's house, to the land that I will show you'.
Sometimes it may not mean that those persons are not necessary,  just that their part in your story has come to an end.  More often than not, our lives are shaped by the company we keep, the persons we let into the doorways of our lives.
God told Abraham  specifically  to leave His country, father's house and relatives....
Abraham was told by God that He would make of him a great Nation, a blessing, make his name great, curse everyone who curses him and bless everyone who blesses him.
However, we find in vs 4 of that same text that Abraham took along Lot his brother's son.
The Lord did not tell Abraham exactly where he was going. He was just instructed to leave where he was for a place he would be shown.
In Genesis 13 the herdsmen of Abraham and Lot had a disagreement which resulted in a split between Lot and Abraham and they went their separate ways. Lot towards the East...the plain of Jordan, which was '...well watered everywhere.'Gen 13:10
Immediately after Lot left in Vs 14, God said to Abraham ,lift up your eyes and see, from where you are standing to the North,South, East and west...as far as your eyes can see...'For all the Land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy  seed forever '!
Abraham received his location, destination, instruction and direction  immediately he disengaged from Lot.
You may be in a situation right now going back and forth because of the excess baggage of a relationship which has become a dead weight. You may never get to your destination or "see" your purpose until you break yourself out of that relationship.
It might be something you know in your heart is a limitation to becoming the best version of yourself, preventing you from exploiting and harnessing  your hidden talenting, potentials and gifting or becoming your most efficient self in the work place. That relationship could be a person, drugs, alcohol, even a situation...!
You need to let it go, walk away, shut the door so you can raise your head and "see"!
What you have been waiting for, may just have been waiting for you! And you know something more, when God is involved, it will always be to your advantage!
